Concert Celebrates Construction Kick-off for Tapestry at Victoria Harbour
March 25, 2018
To mark the construction kick-off for Tapestry at Victoria Harbour, Concert hosted a community pancake breakfast, welcoming friends and neighbours to learn more about the first Tapestry retirement community being built on Vancouver Island at the intersection of several vibrant capital city neighbourhoods.
Held March 24, 2018, guests at the well-attended pancake breakfast included local community members, Victoria Mayor Lisa Helps, and Concert representatives. Attendees had the opportunity to learn more about plans for Tapestry at Victoria Harbour and safely visit the construction site, which is located adjacent to Concert’s The Q Apartments.
“Concert has a long-standing relationship with the City of Victoria, having developed several buildings that have helped to shape the city’s urban character,” said Brian McCauley, Concert’s President & Chief Executive Officer. “We are proud to introduce Tapestry to Victoria and further support a diverse, inclusive and multi-generational community.”
With the introduction of Tapestry in 2001, Concert redefined the traditional model of seniors housing to recognize the importance of independent living and personal choice. The construction of Tapestry at Victoria Harbour adds a fourth retirement community to the expanding Tapestry portfolio, which includes two residences in Vancouver and one in Toronto, with plans for numerous other locations.
Tapestry at Victoria Harbour will consist of a 15-storey mixed-use building with a four-storey podium. The project will include 173 seniors homes, both rentals and condominiums. Like other locations, Tapestry at Victoria Harbour will offer residents a wealth of options and services that allow them to live the retirement lifestyle they desire. Construction is targeted for completion in 2020.
